In this project, students made their own globes on a balloon by doing the following:

drawing approximate lines for the equator and the Prime Meridian

correctly placing cutouts of the continents and labels for the oceans.

By the end of the project, students were able to demonstrate an understanding of the globe by naming the 7 continents, 4 oceans, the equator and the Prime Meridian. They also practiced map reading by using the Compass Rose.
